On the 19th of May 2023, Scottish Care’s National Care at Home & Housing Support Awards 2023 took place. The event was hosted by Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus and Scottish Care CEO, Dr Donald Macaskill – and myCare was fortunate enough to attend.
This was an emotional and moving night for everyone in attendance, an opportunity to celebrate social care in Scotland, and the myCare team was thrilled to not only be present but also to receive recognition for some of our team members’ work. What are the Care at Home Awards?
Scottish Care’s National Care at Home & Housing Support Awards is a prestigious event that recognises the achievements of dedicated homecare teams and individuals working in the field in a range of ways. There are eleven total awards available, with winners and finalists all announced during the awards evening. These awards include the Leadership Award, Emerging Talent Award, Care Worker of the Year Award, Positive Impact Award, and more.
Why These Awards Matter
Recognising the achievements of people working in the care at home industry is an important thing. This field is one that relies on compassion, hard work, and a love for people, all of which can often go unappreciated. The Care at Home Awards has been hailed a huge success, effectively supporting individuals, teams, and companies that have been doing exceptional work.
Each year more and more entries have been flooding in, with employers, relatives, residents, and care home staff all diligently nominating the local services or peers that have been going above and beyond. Winning one of these awards is an impressive achievement, to say the least.

We are thrilled to announce that myCare had team members recognised by these prestigious awards. We’ve known for quite some time that we have some of the best people in the field on our team, but to have their work applauded by such impressive awards is an amazing achievement.
It is our pleasure to announce that Karrie won the Care Service Co-ordinator/Administrator Award, and that Carrie-Anne was a finalist in the Leadership Award. These are both incredible achievements, and these awards are testaments to the unparalleled commitment and love these two people put into their work.
